The aim of the project Later on we found other talented photographers, whose portraits tell stories about life in Mali. From the photographers' original negatives I have made two identical sets of exhibition prints: one which is meant to be in Mali - and one for exhibition in our part of the world. I hope that the photos will give a more present view of people in Mali and contribute to undermining some of the cliches which picture Africa as a continent of hunger, misery and distress. Later on, we intend to upen up the project to young, active photographers, who want to offer close-ups of their own reality to Scandinavian publishers. |
